The Founding of Salon Tel Aviv |
- The Salons group in Tel Aviv started during spring 2006 once the mandate to develop the Jewish Salons project was approved by the board of the "Israel Forum" organization.
- Intending to deal with co-production of Jewish culture events Benny Bailey, the group initiator and coordinator, contacted young Israelis who were active either in Israeli Jewish life or in the art & creative scene.
- Whoever was willing to be committed to the idea voluntarily was present on the founding meeting in June 12, 2006. We established a board of members and defined our mission goal to enhance a global framework of Jewish cultural Salons for young unaffiliated Jews in Diaspora communities.
- During the remaining of 2006 we met every second week regularly, crystallized our vision and mission statement, designed a logo, registered a non-profit organization and chose our action strategy.
- Once the financial support for 2007 strategic plan was guaranteed, we made the preparations to reach out to a group of young Jews in Budapest.
