Yvonne Feiger, 27, Local Director

Since 2004 I am working actively on promoting and enhancing Jewish life in Austria. This started with taking part at the Jewish student union in Austria and led to becoming a board member of the Jewish community in Vienna. I studied communications and cultural studies at the University Vienna. The role of a coordinator is based on the competencies I have learned and is a great possibility for me to connect my interest in art and culture with practical work. In addition I am very interested and motivated to establish a non-institutional and opened cultural room (salon) to broaden the spectrum of Jewish life, culture and identity in Austria.

Sheri Avraham, Artistic Manager

Sheri was born in Israel where she began her career in graphic design. Living in London and Barcelona she studied photography and worked as photography assistant. Today she lives in Vienna as a photographer and an event manager.

"We live in an age where we have to create new communities for people to come together, for those who have never been out of a formal or traditional community and for those who can't find themselves in them. We are in an exciting progress, finding mutual interest and passion for art, philosophy – taking part in a wide learning process that's happening all around the world".

Judith E. Lea Scheer, 31 , Interactive Input, Reach out
"All my life I am committed to culture-political dialogue. What does that mean?
For me, to give space to new percpectives on vibrant topics, with the help of arts & culture.
This commitment, including to make the unheared heared, took many forms. As head of the students union for judaic studies, I tried to open everyday Judaism to my fellow (non-Jewish) students. At the Peace conference in Oslo 2003, our board agreed to open the programm for meditation, dance, arts and culture as a means to communicate peaceful peaceactivism.
Personally, a political Science MA, peace diploma and DANCING did broaden my mind and sight and with all the experiences gained I am looking forward to improve and share this beautiful project. As local chair of the Salon Vienna I got the chance to meet other Salons and I hope many more people will get this chance, the chance to be part of, to experience.. to live the Salons together with us!"

Yael Salomonowitz

While studying Economics at New York University, I started working in the arts, film and theater. Slowly I developed my own artistic practice as well, which primarily consists of video installations and short films. At the moment I am mostly fascinated by everyday conversations, the subway and Sundays.

When I came back to Vienna in June 2008, I joined Salon Vienna and it has changed the way I view both my home - Vienna - and my Jewish background. The process of working in a group to conceptualize ideas and re-examine the readily accessible realm of biblical history, has been a remarkable experience for me. The other group members have not only become close friends of mine, but creative partners and artistic role models. Each member’s individual energy contributes to what makes Salon Vienna so special.

Marek Božuk, 27

I am dedicated to the study of knowledge. Since several years I study mainly philosophy at the University of Vienna accompanied by excursions into technical physics, cognitive science and anthropology, as well as various friendships to the world of arts. After a few years traveling and living abroad in southern Spain I situated myself back in Vienna, looking forward to engage my abilities in culture revolutionary projects.

Since cultural processes mostly are escorted by a mapping through arts and its production and the fascinating vibrancy of Jewish identity seems to hold inside its diversity some perspectives toward a glocal structure of a cultural meta-identity, this project of an art concerned Jewish salon network - in my opinion - crossbreeds contemporary currents into a proper focus – anything further will be history.

Anna Scheer, 28, Visual Concept

I am an artist working with Video. After studying Visual Performance in Dartington, U.K. I lived in London in the 491 Gallery, which was a communal art project. The approach to communal artistic life inspires me and I would like to introduce some of the multidisciplinary and process orientated elements in this project.

Previous I have worked as freelancer for theatres making video stage design, installations in kids museum, multimedia workshop with kids. 2 Years ago I gave birth to my daughter Mia Fe' and most of my time still belongs to her. Aside I am involved in various projects as a stagecamera performer, filming for a tv series and teaching how to edit film.

Salon Vienna has a strong orientation towards people meeting and exchanging. I enjoy to meet new people and to travel to other places and make or see art there. These salons are an open door for all of us to step out into the world and find friends wherever we go.
